GPIDEA - Enrollment

Course Registration

Students register for all their courses through their home institution. This means that as a CSU student, you will contact CSU to register for any course you are taking through Great Plains IDEA whether it is being taught by CSU or not. By registering through your home institution, you will have only one check to write and you will not need to worry about credits being transferred. This is done automatically by the institutions each time you complete a course. As a result, you will have a single transcript. The number to call to register is 970-491-5182.

Dropping and Adding Classes

If you desire to drop a class, you must follow the dates set by your home institution, not the institution from which you are taking the course. For current CSU drop dates, click here.

If you wish to add a course, contact your home institution. If the course has not yet begun, your home institution can register you for the course. If the course has already begun (begin/end dates may vary by institution), permission to add a course must be obtained from the instructor of that course. The campus liaison will contact the professor for you and inquire as to whether you may add the course.

Course Materials

The textbooks and materials you will need are listed with the course information. All textbooks and materials are considered to be required unless noted as being optional. Unless otherwise indicated, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain the textbooks and additional materials. Most of these can be obtained through book distributors such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or our campus bookstore. The CSU campus bookstore number is 800-925-7267.

Course Instruction

CSU courses are taught online using the course management system WebCT accessed through your web browser. Courses taught at other alliance institutions may use different course management systems, however, these are still available through your web browser. Some courses may have supplemental materials such as videos or CDs and others may require phone conferencing. Interactivity between students and professor is generally through e-mail, phone conferencing and the Internet classroom.
