Socially Responsible Apparel Business Graduate Certificate Program

Colorado State University - Continuing Education
Continuing Education

We will be offering four one credit graduate modules on social responsibility in the global supply chain fall semester 2008. The four-week online modules that will be taught are:

  • AM 504 Apparel Worker-Centric Social Responsibility (September 8- October 3, 2008)

Examines the rights of workers. Explores obstacles in meeting and methods for assuring worker rights, including freedom of association. Consideration is given to how to effectively engage with workers.

  • AM 506 Culture & Work in the Apparel Industry (November 3 - December 5, 2008)

Cultural characteristics, employment/work practices and social responsibility; practices that reflect the effects of culture on

business practices.

 

  • AM 508 Environmentally Responsible Apparel Production (October 31, 2008)

Examines environmentally responsible apparel production and practices as philosophy, process, and competitive business strategy. Analyzes sustainable production in the context of a business's physical plant, materials, and resource use.

 

  • AM 509 Corporate Culture for Socially Responsible Apparel (November 3 - December 5, 2008)

Importance of leadership, the role of inspirational leadership, and the opportunities for making a difference will be explored, analyzed and applied. Social change is the emphasis of this course how you can help build a socially responsible workplace Additional information concerning the modules is available at www.continuingstudies.udel.edu/apparel/   

CSU students can register for the modules through Continuing Education.

April 7, 2008 - Graduate Student
April 8, 2008 - Seniors
April 11, 2008 - Juniors
April 18, 2008- Sophomores
April 25, 2008- Freshman
May 5, 2008- New Students

Dates are approximate, and are assigned by the Registrar and determined by the number of credits completed. Please check YOUR RamWeb scheduled time and plan to make and advising appointment with your Advisor two weeks prior to your published date. Advisors will post sign-up sheets for advising appointments outside of their offices. Please help yourself and avoid calling or emailing to set up appointments.

Note: Students will NOT be able to change to Apparel and Merchandising, Interior Design or the Merchandising Minor, during March 31- April 25, 2008 .
