In the College of Applied Human Sciences, we strive to make our programs dynamic and stimulating, a place where students are engaged in inspiring educational settings to transform people’s lives.

The College is human-centered with a focus on educating students for people-oriented professions. Our goal is to help students learn to apply creative, interdisciplinary research and outreach to solving social problems across the lifespan from young children to our oldest adults. Programs in our eight academic units are led by expert faculty aimed at improving health and lives in many areas including environmentally sound housing and construction, education, individual and family development, nutrition, and design.

Obesity and disease prevention, homelessness and poverty, teacher shortages, and improved quality of life for those with disabilities are all areas addressed by researchers and students seeking to find solutions to the world’s problems.

We place a strong emphasis on experiential learning opportunities, including internships, which allow students to test new skills in real-world settings, giving them the tools to be successful. Our state-of-the-art research facilities and technology featuring industry software ensure that students have many unique learning opportunities.

Our alumni are working as teachers, therapists, nutritionists, wellness professionals, construction managers, retail specialists, social workers, and in many other professions, making a difference around the globe.

We encourage all of our alumni, students, and friends to get involved in College activities! We are excited about the future and we invite you to be a part of the College and Colorado State University as we endeavor to optimize the quality of life for our fellow citizens.
