MESSAGE FROM DEAN APRIL MASON

Dean April Mason
Welcome to the website for the College of Applied Human Sciences (CAHS) at Colorado State University! We invite you to take a few moments to discover what our College has to offer. The College pages have a wealth of information on our academic programs, student opportunities, research areas, centers and institutes, and our College development activities. You will find our College to be dynamic and stimulating, a place where students are given the tools and inspiration they need to transform people's lives.
Eight academic units comprise the College of Applied Human Sciences. The College is human-centered with a focus on educating students for people-oriented professions. Our goal is to help students learn to apply creative, interdisciplinary research and outreach to solving social problems. Whether the field is education, individual and family development, health or human sciences, housing, or design, the programs in the College of Applied Human Sciences are aimed at improving the quality of life for all people.
Learning takes place in a variety of settings, forging strong links between the classroom and the workplace. All of the College's programs combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience supported by state-of-the-art technology and research laboratories. The strong emphasis on experiential learning opportunities, including internships and practicums, allows students to test new skills in real-world settings. CAHS has one of the largest enrollments on campus with almost 4,000 undergraduate students and over 850 graduate students. Many of our programs have an almost 100% placement rate for graduates.
We encourage all of our alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff to get involved in College activities! We are excited about our progress and we invite you to be a part of CAHS and Colorado State University as we strive to optimize the quality of life for our fellow citizens.
Warm Regards
April Mason, Ph.D.
